We ke getting the following error message when we post to the forums. Can anyone tell me the best way to correct this.

Server Error in Forum Application
An error has occured while sending an email.
Please check that the CDONTS email component is installed on the server.
Please contact the forum administrator.

Support Error Code:- err_Access_create_CDONTS_object
File Name:- functions_send_mail.asp

Error details:-
Server object

This error relates to your email settings in the admin area.

It looks like you have set the email components for emails to CDONTS and according to the error this component is not installed on the server.

CDONTS was replaced by Microsoft in Windows 2000 and above with CDOSYS. Change the email component in the admin area of the forum to use CDOSYS instead.

You're a superstar Bruce that worked perfectly. Can I ask will this now allow me to email forum members. I would like to email them an html newsletter. do I have to make any other adjustments to the email notifications? Queensah

You would need to speak to your web host in order to check you have the correct settings in order to send email to your members email addresses.

In order to send Newsletters you would need to use NewsPad which is a Blog/Newsletter tool that can send Newsletters to Web Wiz Forums members who have subscribed to receiving newsletters in their forum profile:-
