I notice a lot of spam posting on various forums that I look
at and I have looked at a number of sites that aim to address this problem.
As far as I can see the anti spam sites list IP addresses
and usernames of spammers and none of them list the businesses that are being
promoted.
As I can’t find such a site, I thought about setting up one
on the basis that if a Google/Yahoo etc search result that brings up this new site might create a negative view of the business that is promoting itself this way.
On the other hand it would be a link to that business.
Then I came to the conclusion that people able to post to
this site would need to be very restricted to stop fake posting so the database
would never grow.
Then I thought what about if each website/forum owner
created their own page that lists these sites, as we would be the only person
able to post to our own list then we would know that our list is correct.
I would be happy to GPL a simple ASP.Net system to do this
which anyone could add to their site.
