Greetings, I've been using webwiz forums for several years, although I haven't upgraded the software since 2006. I was wondering what benefits the latest version has as compared to the one I'm using, which I'm not sure what version that is at this point, but again, it's been about 7 years since I upgraded.

If you go to the page below it has lots of information on the various releases over the years:-
In regrads to Search Engine Rankings, if your server supports URL Rewriting then upgrading would improve search engine rankings as URL's are rewritten to include the forum name or topic subject.

Well, I upgraded to the latest software version, and I must say - it's amazing. I love the latest posts being displayed, the "Thanks" feature, the interface with facebook & twitter, the immediate improvement with the search engines, etc..... but the best of all could be the spam controls. Up until the upgrade, we were taking a beating by the spammers. We would have at least 25 spammers a day join and they would hit us around the clock. Since the upgrade, we haven't had one. Love it! Darn near amazing.
Very happy with how far webwiz (and Bruce) have come with this software. It's truly state of the art and the best around.
Best to all - if I'm not back here for awhile until the next upgrade.
