Title says it all: my forums have, overnight, been floated with 2000+ topics with spam.

I'm running the 9.5 Free edition and my only question is: how to (batch) delete them?

1 by 1 is not really and option....

I believe that with v9 you would have to delete the posts one by one. If it is all in one thread, started by the spammers, you could delete the entire thread to save time.

The latest version has better spam controls, and you can delete all posts by a member when you ban them. May be worth upgrading?

I tried deleting one by one, that is helpless.

Looks like upgrading is the only way.

Upgrading would be your best bet as there are spam filters already included in this.. Not sure if even the V9 you are using would even help you with this.. The newest version will tend to lead you to much better options.

I think so to.

The only other issue I have is how to delete these 22000(!) topics/replies.

Do you know which members have posted the spam? for example is it 22,000 spam posts from 22,000 accounts? or 22,000 spam posts from a handful of accounts?

If the later then V10 will help tremendously, as there is a new link in profiles that allows you to mark an account as a spammer. With an option to delete every post the account made as well as suspending the account. So if each account had a bout 1000 spam posts, it would delete all of these in one quick move.

If how ever it is the former, 22,000 posts by 22,000 members you will never make that job easier. But the upgrade should help to prevent it from happening again. V10 also the ability to access StopForumSpam to find out if the new user is a known spammer and block the sign up, this works great on my own forum.

I know what members made the post, I can filter on registration date.
Their names are obvious and some have 300+ posts others less.
