Firstly, I'd like to say that I have installed this on a Windows Server 2003 enterprise server, using: IIS, Persists software (Email, Jpeg, etc.), SQL Server 05 Enterprise and have found myself - after creating the forums - having a spot of trouble.
I use Dropbox and Cubby that are 'connected' to the main site (/asp/.....) so that I am able to edit pages while away or anything.
I'd like to operate WWF on Windows 03 as it contains all my site, SQL, etc. data and would like to operate a forum system (ASP/.net) as I 'require' one. Upon checking the main folder (/asp/wwf/....) I am unable to locate the valid filename for the forum that was created. In my case Known-bugs_foundx.html (x = number I.E. 1, 2, etc.) which is 'located' in the root of WWF, I need some help understanding what is happening as I'm not too sure. I think the issue I'm facing is permission based, but would like some clarification as to if I'm on the right track.

Web Wiz Forums does not have any files called Known-bugs_foundx.htm. Are you sure you are installing Web Wiz Forums as the majority of files should have the .asp extension and no .html files. Bruce, The .html file was "created" after creating a forum (Known-bugs_foundx.html is a created forum/category), I may've confused you on this, I apologise for that. I can also confirm that I'm using the latest version of WWF (V11.01), can you please confirm if this could be a permissions issue on my end or if it could be another issue that I haven't thought of? Sorry for the confusion, I created a forum called "Known Bugs found", as a 'forum/topic' and as such it had attempted to create a html file under the root folder hence the "Known-bugs_foundx.html" file, but again not exactly sure why it didn't create the file. I have yet to check the logs for the occurrence, I should've checked those prior :(, sorry, but in the same, I wanted to also query on what the WWF forum members thoughts would've been. Further to previous, I have just checked the IIS logs, and haven't found any reference to "404, 301, etc. or permission denied", after attempting to create a new forum (named: http://luna.techsamcko.info/asp/wwf/site-ination_forum7. - site-information_forum7.html). Would you be able to 'advise' on what I may need to do to get it to work correctly? Or for that matter allow it to create said files considering I am pretty sure the permissions are correct (haven't checked though). Cheers, samcko

OK I understand the issue now.
You have URL Rewriting from the Seacrh Engine Optimisation (SEO) settings page in the admin area. This feature would only work on Windows 2008 IIS 7 and above and will not work on Windows 2003. You would need to disable the URL Rewrite feature from the admin area.
Windows 2003 is not being support by Microsoft as of next July and you may want to look at upgrading to a newer version of Windows Server before support for the ageing OS is dropped.

THANK YOU! Disabling URL Rewrite worked!
Greatly appreciated, I didn't give that option a thought considering it even stated "DO NOT ENABLE this option unless
you have first installed the Web Wiz URL Rewriting Tool Add-on..." which I thought I had installed, but as this option is enabled by default (unless I'm mistaken :|).

It is off by default as the web.config file that contains the URL Rewrite tools will crash the website unless URL rewriting is installed and therefore have to provide this as a separate download.
Glad to hear though that you have it working now.

I see, I honestly thought it was on by default (my mistake sorry :)), but all in all, it's now working very well, have created a topic within two of three forums I've setup and locked them, so on that note, it's all working fantastically! I'm very happy with the way it's working, now I need to get it to work along side my 'main site', which is going to be "fun :)", considering WWF uses MD5/SHA1 for passwords and my site uses Plain-text :( which I need to figure out a way to turn this around (so that the site uses MD5/SHA1 and still able to play the game - database is a all-in-one connection meaning - Game <-> site <-> database <-> etc. and since the game also uses plain-text (unsure if MD5/SHA1 can be configured with it or not as I haven't checked or tried), but all in all though, as long as the forum is functioning, I can sort this little issue out at a later time.
