Shutting forum down can it be archived?

I am shutting down my forum. I was wondering if there is a way to archive the forum so users can still read it but not post. There is lots of valuable information and it would be a shame to just shut it down without still having the ability to read and learn from previous posts.

This would be a cheaper option to paying the current monthly $$ from my internet provider.

The only way you could achieve this would be to disable Creating Topics, Posts and Private Messages for members using the permissions system and disable new registrations.

The forum can then be read with out members adding new posts.
