    Posted: 05 November 2016 at 11:06am
I downloaded the latest version of Web Wiz Forums (11.07) and tried installing it on my IIS 10.
Windows 10 pc to test it.
But I am unable to connect to MySQL database.

Error Msg:
Microsoft OLE DB provider for ODBC Drivers
[Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager]Data source name not found and no default driver specified.

My system details.

MySQL version : 5.7.16 x64
MySQL Connector: ODBC 5.3.6

Am able to connect using PHP and PHP applications running fine.

Did not try any other ASP application to check connectivity.

Forum 11.07 working fine with Access database.

So please help me.

Thanks in advance.

The error is due to the myODBC Driver not being installed on your Windows 10 PC.

Currently Web Wiz Forums supports the myODBC 3.51 or myODBC 5.1 Drivers.

You would need to install one of these drivers on the server and then configure Web Wiz Forums to use either myODBC 3.51 or myODBC 5.1.

You can download the myODBC driver from the page below by clicking on 'Looking for previous GA versions?' and selecting the myODBC 3.51 or 5.1 versions.

https://dev.mysql.com/downloads/connector/odbc/

However, I would advise to use a SQL Server Database with Web Wiz Forums.

Thanks for your reply but I have already installed ODBC Driver 5.3.6 and selected myODBC 5.1 but still no go.

Any further suggestions.

The myODBC 5.3 driver is not the same driver as the myODBC 5.1 driver. The version that you select needs to match the installed version.

You would need to download and install the myODBC 5.1 driver.

We are currently testing support for myODBC 5.3 driver but in the current version the myODBC 5.3 driver is not supported.
