I have had a problem on our forum where a moderator has modified user information with out my knowledge or permission. Looking a the current moderator permissions there is no way to have them be able to just moderate without giving them the ability to change user information. So I would like to suggest a change/addition to the moderator setup. I think this change would be of use to other admins as well. Thank you Bruce for your time and effort in making webwiz better!

I would like to see a moderator setup like this.

Super-Moderator (same as the current moderator)
This will allow the group to be able to delete, edit, move, etc. all posts in this forum, and edit user profiles etc. across the entire board

Moderator
This will allow the group to be able to delete, edit, move, etc. all posts in this forum.

You can already limit what moderators can do so they can only edit and delete posts within the forums they are moderators.

For the 'Registration and Profile Settings' page in the admin area you can disabled moderators from 'Moderator Member Profile Editing and Spam Cleaner'. This will prevent moderators from editing forums members registration/profile settings.

From the 'User Settings' page within the admin area you can also disable 'Display IP Addresses to Moderators'.

Ok, Thanks for the information I did not see that option. But it treats all moderators the same, I would like one moderator to be able to make changes but not the other.

In order to create a super moderators group it would require database changes which would only be done between major versions.

For now you can only disable profile editing for all moderators, admins can still modify forum profiles.
