...i'm getting the dreaded CDate error, and before anyone says search the forum or read the documentation, i have. please read on...

here's the situation:

the forum works fine on my local machine, but as soon as i uploaded it to my new host it started returning the Type mismatch: 'CDate' error.

so, first thing i did was to search this forum for answers, i then read the documentation, and made sure that i have the Session.LCID = 2057 as it's hosted here in the UK. i then deleted all my cookies and my cached internet files and retried the forum. worked and then as soon as i refreshed the page or tried to log in it would return the same Type mismatch: 'CDate' error. this happens each time; i clear cookies & cache then it's fine but as soon as i refresh, BAM, back to square one again.

the admin area works like a charm, as usual, i can specify the forum setting, email setting etc, no probs.

any ideas?

i'm using 7.02 of the forum... and the site is hosted by 1&1 so if anyone has experiences of this company comments would be appreciated too!

1 & 1 are actually a German company and all their servers are in Germany.

Someone else reported the same problem with 1 & 1 and although the 1 & 1 tech support assured them that the server was set to UK locale he found that it was not setup correctly and that he had to change the LCID number to the German LCID number.

ah - thus why their mail server has a .de domain. i had a read thru some of their faqs and they talked about having the LCID set to 1033 (USA), this didn't work either, but i shall try the LCID for germany.
