I've been running a Windows 2000 server for a while now but i've never setup a DNS server and i'm considering to setup my own DNS server now..... my questions are the following, if i set up my own DNS can i redirect a sub domain to a folder on my website, for example can i redirect http://forums.mydomain.com to http://mydomain.com/forums ..? If so can anyone post provide any links or instructions on how to setup the DNS server please.... i've done googled it but i can't find step-by-step instructions for a newbie like me

You should never have the DNS Server on the same IP that your Site is, not even on the same server. If you want to configure DNS you should really buy a book or so as it is not a do it click it done subject.

if you want to edit the name servers for your domain there are free editable name servers at http://www.zoneedit.com
