error 404 message...please help

I have Just made a website and i put a file on there so people can download and ebook that i bought from some other people on the web....it has resell rights to it....but when i uploaded everything and i went to the site it keeps giving a error 404 message...what could be the problem

Okay first. Look closely and make sure the error is a 404 error. It's probably an Internal 500 Error but when people see an error they just assume it's a 404 error.

If the error is indeed a 404 error, then make sure you have uploaded all of the files.

it says that its 404, am i suppose to upload just the webpage or the file sepperate from the page.......
