7.51a on w2k server

i'm trying to "Watch this forum for new posts" but am not getting emails nor am i getting any errors.  I have some non-forum asp pages that send emails from forms and they are being received so i think smtp is fine, nothing in badmail, queue, pickup, drop, route or mailbox. the forum code looks close enough to my code to where i don't think that's the problem.  anyone have any suggestions as to where i should look or try next.

The way the forum sends email has not changed for over a year so there should be no bugs in the code after this long.

Check your email address is correct.
Check that your SMTP server is setup to relay messages onto non-local email addresses

it was the setup of SMTP and non-locals.  i'm testing remotely, thanks.
