Any way to specify the sorting on a forum? There's one section
on the board I'd like to have sorted alphabetically.

I could probably get into the code and hack it but I'd rather not.

I think the only way to do it is to hack the code.

And the only problem with that is Borg comes out with a new version, and you have to then re-hack the code once again!  And then another version, and you have to re-hack the code again!  And then...

At least Borg is adding more and more on-off switches and options.  This makes it less likely for you to have to hack the code.

Plus, he is actually incorporating some of the hacks I had already implemented, which means I don't have to re-hack those!

We are in a unique situation where we are doing some things with the forum not intended by the original author (e.g. integrating our entire site with the Forum Login to make it a Site Login, among other things), so we basically HAVE to modify the code to get it to do what we want.

My struggle has been to make the changes I need without changing any of the forum's files.  Not an easy task and not always possible.  In some cases we actually made a copy of a file and modified that.  The forum uses the forum version, and the rest of the site used a modified version. (e.g. the logout script for the forum is slightly different than the logout script for the rest of the site because of where we want the user redirected, so we created two different logout scripts.  If we upgrade, only the forum's version of the script gets overwritten.  Our modified version stays intact.)

Since Borg is coming out with new versions with new features fast & furious, I would probably just ask him for that ability to be included.  He may just incorporate it in.

He is doing a great job of make a forum product that does what webmasters actually need and want.

That's why I didn't want to hack it. I actually changed the code
to integrate with our membership database but then switched
back to the original code - realizing that all my efforts would
be useless in the event of a version upgrade - and would
make the upgrade difficult.

While we're on the topic of nice to have features...
Something that may be useful is having an email
go out to an admin to 'Activate' a new registration instead
of an auto-activation. I actually did that code already but
then scrapped it due to above reason.
