Hello.. just wondering if Googlebot can access forums that are restricted?  I have a moderator/admin forum, and I don't want googlebot to cache it..

also.. the robots.txt  file.. would that apply to the whole site, or can we add it to just certain forums that we don't want cached?

and one more thing..   if we dont' allow googlebot to cache the site.. does that mean we won't show up on searches??

Googlebot will only be able to see what you do as an unlogged in person browsing the web pages. It doesn't have any special powers that allow it to logg into a forum.

The robot.txt file will effect the whole site.

If google can not cache pages they won't be available for it to search so you probally won't turn up in google searches.
