Hi,
Forum version 7.01 and 7.5; problem exists on WinXPeng SP1 with IE 6.0.2800.1106 (eng) - "my" versions, and also in many other versions (systems, IE version and languages).
On some pages I get strange behaviour:
a) two lines from source header.asp:
<META http-equiv=Content-Language content=pl />
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-2" />
(first lines in this file, added by me)
are 'translated' to these:
<META http-equiv=Content-Language content=pl>
<META http-equiv=Content-Type content="text/html; charset=windows-1250">
b) something is adding line:
<META content="MSHTML 6.00.2800.1276" name=GENERATOR>
in this context:
<LINK href="Post New Topic3_files/default_style.css" type=text/css
rel=stylesheet>
<META content="MSHTML 6.00.2800.1276" name=GENERATOR>
</HEAD>
c) on these pages I cannot "view source"
This behaviour makes some problems with polish letters (not only letters with different codes in ISO-8859-2 and ANSI 1250).
On page: http://www.papugi.webserwer.pl/forum/forum/forum_posts.asp?T ID=4044&PN=1&TPN=1 everything is ok (no additional META tags, no changes in polish letters). When I "quote" (polish: cytuj) or "post new topic" (nowy temat) I get bad letters. After "refresh" (in IE) everything is ok (can "view source", no MSHTML line, no changes in META tags). But in wysiwyg editor letters are still mangled. This effect is only after "quote" and "post new topic", and also on logon page, members. I didnt test every page.
This happens ONLY when wysiwyg mode is on.
When I move META lines from first two lines of header.asp to every page just after <HEAD> tag, page at browser has additional line (as mentioned in b above), but META lines are not changed (as at point a). Also, polish letters are good on page - and mangled only ni wysiwyg window (iframe). Still, I cannot "view source".
Polish letter combination I used (checking whether it works on your server config): kaźń i żółtość będą.
