Hello everyone. I stumbled upon your great site on Google and am very intriguied. I currently own and run one of the biggest Al Gore support sites on the web: http://www.algoresupportcenter.com/ and have a very active community: http://algoresupport.proboards19.com/index.cgi on Proboards, but I am looking to switch. I downloaded the zip but don't understand what to do from here. I have my site on Homestead. So if anyone could help me set it up, I would be most grateful. You can post it on here or email me at: chrisdjackson@presidency.com

Thanks for the help!

Firstly you need a web host that supports ASP. You could check by making a file called test.asp with this code and uploading it to your server:

<%="ASP works! The server time is" & now()%>

Then all you have to do is upload the files if your host supports it. If not you could upload it to a free asp host, like www.brinkster.com

Mart.

It takes ages to upload the files on brinkster because theres no ftp on the free accounts. So no . But all you have to do is upload the files (into the 'db' directory on brinkster) and your laughing.

Ok, thanks. Is there another free host with no banner or popups that has ASP and FTP?

Thanks

Well UkFreehosts.com is free for the first year and contains FTP upload, but I don't think there are any other totally free ASP host that do not contain popups and ads.

It costs money to run a web server.  The free web hosts have to pay for that somehow.  And the ads are what helps pay for the server.

Either you pay or an advertiser pays for you.  There is no way around that.  Someone has to pay.
