    Posted: 28 December 2003 at 7:02am

Im currently redoing my sites file directory in asp and am about to rewrite the upload module for it, At the moment it's written in VB.NET and the largest file so far that ive seen succesfully uploaded is about 11MB , are there any ASP components that could do this? as im much more fluent in asp than .net.

So what im wanting to know is which language/Component is best for browser based uploading? Pro, cons etc... any input would be excellent.

Thanks for your time.

you could try Persits ASP Upload or Dundas ASP Upload or any similar..

Dundas is free and most hosts have either Dundas or Persits aspupload component installed..

I'm looking for an ASP.NET module written in VB.NET. If it's possible, can you give me an example of it? If it's your own written code, I understand that you won't give it thanks anyway! Btw, take a look here, i guess you'll find something useable http://www.aspin.com/home/components/file/upload

A developer at my company wrote a C# class that we use for our upload site. We successfullt upload file well over 200MB. Most ASP Components I tried time out before that. I can check if I can get you the code but can't promise it.

Thanks for the input guys, it's appreciated.

WOW 200mb thats crazy, Timeouts are the main reason im a bit cautious of ASP components, im yet to find one that doesn't timeout on the larger uploads. How are timouts handled in .net uploads?, surely it's not just by playing with the maxRequestLength setting in web.config.

Michael, I assume that was a custom upload class and not just a class utilizing .net's built in upload function?
