Eventhough the version that I downloaded was v7 b3 for Acess 2000, Why in your code didn't you set the default db driver to

strCon = "Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0; Data Source=" ...

After all, you said this one is faster than the basic one which is the one set by default ? (you commented out the above line to use the slower one??)
