How do you set up the forum to have the Important Topics at the top of each forum category?

That is included in the newest version 7.7a.

Important topics are stickys and announcements.

Is it possible in v.7.9 ?

Annoucements are either set for that forum or to be displayed in all forums.

If you only want the announcement for some forums, then you will need to place sepporate announcements in each of those forums.

Ok, I see.
But, please, think about this feature in the future versions: if a category has some forums, i think, it's useful to do an announcement among forums of this category only.
In else case - for what the categories can be created ?
