SQL error to big forum homepage

I have a huge forum homepage with a lot of forums on it, well that's how i want to site, anyway this isn't a big problem but when i load all the catagories, at the top of the forum table it says
 
Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server error '80004005'

[DBNETLIB][ConnectionOpen (Connect()).]SQL Server does not exist or access denied.

/forum2/default.asp, line 394

and then at the bottom it cuts off a couple of forums and and the forum statistics like how fast the page loads
 
i've overridden this by pointing my site to ppl with the default.asp?C=2 link and i just wanna know what the problem is with that error-- i have the same db on an access version and it doesn't do that error, but then again thats the access version and not the sql... thanks

It seems that SQL Server is getting to stage whereby it's not allowing any more database connections.

I've tried to limit issues like this in version 8 by cutting down the number of queries to the database on the homepage.

I'm hoping to have an RC1 or final version of web wiz forums out within the next 3 to 4 weeks.
