Hey Borg,

Great additions.

My question is... can I just replace the pages(1.0) below with the NEW 1.1 pages... a simple write over... or is there more to it than that?

Also I dont see any difference in the default.asp page?

1. RSS_calendar_feed.asp - changed for better support for sites that use mutiple domains
2. RSS_post_feed.asp - same as above
3. RSS_topic_feed.asp - same as above
4. RSS_xslt_style.asp - same as above
5. includes/ads_inc.asp - updated with new data
6. default.asp - now has a link to Firefox as the web wiz forums has been designed to run in Firefox as IE is a pain in the arse to develop anything for (IE SUCKS!!)
7. help.asp - same as above
8. language_files/language)file_inc.asp - updated with new and corrected text

No, I believe that a few global search and replaces happend so probally better off replacing all pages.

Also those changes that you list are for version 8.0 which has yet to be released, they ended up in the log file by mistake. The latest version is version 8 RC1.1

I downloaded the RC8 1.0 a few weeks ago and now I just downloaded the NEWEST patch? RC8 1.1

Due to some of the mods that I make to pages(cosmetics) - is there a way of updating files and leaving out some like... forum_topics.asp or navigation_buttons_inc.asp

in other words... letting us know of any changes BIG or small to certain pages?

would be a big help - thanks

Actually I would just need to know about the following pages only:

  1. default.asp
  2. default_style.css
  3. forum_topics.asp
  4. forum_posts.asp
  5. navigations_buttons_inc.asp

one other thing... how about a quick way to go from a 15 character to a 25 character length username? a simple database change?

All the pages you mention have been changed from RC1 to RC1.1 to fix issues.

Changing the username length means database and code changes across multiple pages. All username textboxes need to be altered as well as in the ASP where the text box data is read in.

It is not enough to change just the username "15" to "25" in the right asp pages?

I have done that and it seems to work... but if you say I need to do it in the database then I will do it....

also... the database created with RC8 1.0 download can be used with the patch download of RC8 1.1???
