    Posted: 25 April 2006 at 11:46pm

We had a discussion forum website developed for us 3 years ago, developer can't be found.

We have now moved the location of the WebPages and the discussion forum has crashed.

Does anyone have suggestions on how to trouble shoot the problem.

It is no doubt evident that I am a first time poster and not a web developer!

Any help would be appreciated.

Regards

Glee

We moved the content of the website (including the forum) to the new server, now the forum can not be accessed.  We simply get "The page cannot be displayed"; HTTP 500 - Internal sever error.
The rest of the site is OK.

http://www.webwiz.net/asp/faq/friendly_HTTP_error_messages.asp

Do what that says, and then tell us what happens when you visit the forum.

If you do a search in the forum you will see it happend to other before. Basically your Access Database does not have write permissions. Make sure that the DB is in a folder outside the root of the web and that it has read/write access. Your host can usually help out with the details on that.
