i'm just been informed from our forum members that email link does not work for some users.

Here is an example on the html code from the member profile profile page

<a href="mailto:XXXs%26%23111%3Bn%40XXXXX%2Eedu">XXXson@XXX.edu</a>
Email address gets formated (some html strip function)

Anyone has a suggestion how to avoid this?

Thanks

This is just some HTML encoding to prevent XSS hacking, but should not effect the actual email link working.

If some of your users are having issues, then why not activate the built in email client from the email configuration page in the admin area?

Thanks Borg.
For some strange reason the email address is displayed just fine in the link name but get's "striped" in the mailto part of the code (which then make an invalid email address)

As for build email client i never considered it since i try to avoid as many "problems" as i can. Also, some email providers are "easy" on blocking emails from the server where my site is located so i guess that may make build in email not so reliable.

Thank you for the answer !

The maito: part is HTML encoded to prevent CSS hacking, so that is correct.

However, browsers are built to handle HTML ending in email and standard links, so should not course any issues as the HTML encoding will be decoded by the web browser when clinked on.
