Hi, I have been running v8 for a short while now from a new install (not upgraded).

It was working fine until today when I tried to view the forum I got this error message up:

Server Error in Forum Application
An error has occured while reading user data from the database.
Please contact the forum administrator.

Support Error Code:- err_mySQL_getUserData()_get_member_data
File Name:- functions_login.asp

Error details:-
Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers
[MySQL][ODBC 3.51 Driver][mysqld-5.0.20a-nt]Incorrect information in file: '.\free-esl\fe_author.frm'

(The actual page it's on is http://free-esl.com/forums/default.asp)

The only changes I've made have been to the underlying database. Due to various issues not related to the forum we have made the MySQL db utf8 and disabled InnoDB tables.

Can anyone help?

Many thanks!

I've not come across this error before, but it appears to be database related.

When I looked at your forum it gave an error in the datetimeformat.frm file.

All these files ending in .frm are mySQL files used to store info on the database table.

I have had a look on mySQL.com and it seems that different database engines store different data in these tables, by changing the underlying mySQL database like you have, you have made the database incompatible with the new settings.

The only thing I can think to suggest is that you either change the underlying database settings back to what they were, or recreate the database using the database set-up tool and the new settings.
