Posting New Topics - Message Box Error

Everything seems to be working fine with the forum, i am using the new version 8.1 (last modified april 9th 2006).
Brilliant BB application.
Unfortunately i am getting this validation message box when i am trying to post a new topic.
 
The form has not been submitted because there are problems with the form. Please correct the problem and re-submit the form.
 
The followinf field need to be coorected:-
Message Box - Enter a Message to Submit
(You may need to diable script blocking software on your PC)
 
The fields are filled and Javascript is enable on my browser so it does look like a bug.
 
Any help would be appreciated.

This is a known issue that effects some users and is often to do with things like Norton IS running on people machines.

The problem is being worked on for the next release.

Hi Bruce, I have the same issue mate. New Members have been to my  forum for so many times, tried to post a reply or a new topic and they haven't been able to, or go to the guest book and they can't sign it because it won't let them. Same message come up on the screen. I have been wondering why the forum it's been so quite since I bought it and until I received phone calls from my friends.
Please let me know what's going on.

If you do a search there are countless posts on this.

The reason I gave before is the reason for this problem in molst cases and only effects a handful of users running Norton or MacAffee.

However, there is a couple of sites where apperently many users get this problem and the only reason I can see why is that the site is setup to sendout headers to client browsers not to cache static pages or connection issues, this then courses the JavaScript page associated with this action loads so slowly that the action can not be assiciated with the RTE, therefore it fails to submit correcftly.

For the moment disable the RTE from the admin area, so your users don't have any of these issues if you are finding your site is one of those affected.

How do i disable the RTE via the admin area? How will this affect any of the forum features?

Sorry switched of the RTE script and it lets me post a topic!

Thats just fine. A fix in the future releases would be even better :))
 
Appreciate the support and the help in resolving this issue.

The problem is being fixed for the next release.

I'm going back to the old method of submitting the RTE as an action on the submit button, so that part of the process is done on the same page to prevent this types of problems.
