You need to turn off friendly HTTP error messages in IE and let us know what the actual error message is.

It looks like your web hosts may have disabled the virtual method for uploading files using aspSmartUpload

Contact your web hosts about this.

hi bruce
contacted with the host ppl, but before that i did run a little check...you see i have this restriction of file size on images, 100 kb..at first i thought it was the admin restriction because of which the error occured, but then I changed the size to 500 kb and guess what?
any file of the size LESS than 200 kb is being uploaded, i get no errors if the image file is less than 200 kb, but if more...same error...what do u suggest?

***EDIT***
the avatars are being uploaded too...no problem in that

Sounds like your host may have put a restriction of 200kb on HTTP uploads.

aspSmartUpload does put allot of strain on the server resources and often makes the entire site freeze for all users while the upload is taking place. This is probably the reason for the 200kb limit.

Persist ASPupload i s a much better component and less resource intensive.

IIS 6 then should allow uploads of up to 2Mb via HTTP
