MadDog is right, you will get a quicker reply if you post in the support forum, however, I think I may know your problem.
I had a similar problem when I modified the background on my forum and whenever a text box showed up, it was the same color as my background. I suspect that your text box is there, it's just black like your background so you can't see it.
I had to set my backround color on the header page itself instead of in the css file and my problem was solved. You may want to try the same.
