Was at Heathrow airport today with some friends flying abroad. I decided to wait with them in the queue to go through passport control etc.. We waited for nearly 2.5 hours before getting near the front.. If you need to fly abroad.. take my advice
GET THERE VERY EARLY!!!!!

I feel sorry for you and everyone in the west. The airports there suck. Airports here in Asia are much better. Kimpo airport in Seoul used to be the international airport before it was moved to Inchon, and it was kind of sucky, but it's still better than airports back there. (Denver International was good.)
But flying through Inchon International Airport then Narita International in Tokyo and arriving in North America... It feels like you're back in the stone age. No clocks on the walls. No information station. No restaruants. Sucky Internet if any.
Air travel in the west is going downhill fast.

Usually British airports run smoothly. This is the first time I have ever seen LONDON Heathrow like this, its just because of last weeks terrorist threats that they have now hightend the security

There's that too. But I don't necessarily mean that the airports don't run smoothly. It's just that if you're flying through Detroit or LA, there's just no comparison for the airport itself with somewhere like Narita International in Tokyo or Inchon International.
Basically, last time I was back over the pond (in July) there were just so many things that left me shaking my head in amazement/disappointment.
It seems like in the west the airlines/airports have lost sight of making travel a pleasant experience.
Terrorism only exacerbates that problem.

Took me 7 hours to get through Heathrow on Sunday for a flight to the US. That included 3 hours standing in the rain outside of the terminal waiting for the line to move.

I've not been on a plane for about 4 or 5 years, but all these queues and hassle have certainly put me of even thinking about going abroad.
I got annoyed standing in a queue in shop yesterday (Argos sucks) for 35 minutes, let alone queuing for 7 hours!!

Lol i gave up flying outta Heathrow years ago, it has always been a lame, dirty and badley run airport. I now only go on holiday if i can get there flying outta Stanstead  PS. Waited 20 mins for some blank DVD's in Argos last week, only to be bought out the wrong ones arghhhhhhh
