Firstly, I want to say everything you have written works great!

I'm trying to ues the aspupload feature. Without any installed it refers to Persists' version, which costs US$150.
It is working with a 30 day trial at the moment with out a problem.

But previous attempts to setup other free versions such as aspSmartUpload have not worked, yet I installed them as per their authors instructions.

Is it necessary to ues Persists' software to get file uploading to work?

I can't seem to find this question asked already - sorry if it is, but where? :)

Many thanks.

All the supported upload components work with web wiz forums and have been tested.

It could be that you have not installed the component correctly, as Persists is the simplest to install it could be that. AspSmartUpload is a pain to install correctly, last time I tried I gave up after 30 minutes.

DunDas fileUp, which can still be found if you search, also includes a simpler installation if you have a look for that.

However, Persits AspUpload is certainly the best of the bunch and uses much less server resources than the others.

I have d/l'd & installed dundas aspupload.

Does mean I have to change anything in the forum pages / settings?

Or if the fact that it's not working suggest I havne't installed it correctly? I don't think you should have to offer support on someone else product, but if you had any tips or there is an FAQ that may help you could point me to? Would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks

You need to select from the online admin section under the upload configuration page which upload component you are using.
