I'm not sure if this is a bug or the way it is supposed to be.  But I noticed on our forums, if you are as guest, when you post, it asks you to type in your name, and it allows you to type in the name of an existing forum member.  So if guest posting is allowed, you could post, and it would appear that it came from an another existing user's username.

Let me know if I'm missing something here.

It does, but also under the name of the person who posted it, it does say Guest.

Wouldn't it be easy enough and make sense, that when a guest posts to check the name that the guest entered against the current user list. If there is a match, then just give them a message that they have selected a name already in use, and if it is their name, they should login to post under their name?

The Guest system is only a simple one as it is NOT recommended that you enable this feature as it opens your forum up to spammers, hackers, and flood control methods don't work.
