Yes you can access the data in a 2002 DB with Access 2000 by linking the tables although you cannot directly open the 2002 DB.
If using a v6(2002 DB) source easiest way is to use the Migrator app choosing the Access 2000 version of v7. Just follow instructions and all will run ok.
If using same source and target open a new DB with Access and then LINK all tables of your 2002 source. Then link all tables of your 2000 target noting that the same name tables are automatically renamed having a "_1" appended. Now simply create a series of Append queries for each pair of tables (See the query listing in the Migrator app for the correct sequence).
Do excercise the utmost care when linking the tables making absolutely sure you have a secure backup - just in case!

Hope this helps

I think -borg- has some code functions to limit the username number of characters as well.
If you need an Access 2000 version of the database, I can downgrade it for you and post it here. Just reply to this and let me know.

There are many files that would also need changing and two or three fields in the database.
If you are not familure with ASP and databases then you are better just sticking to the default amount. People can always enter there real name in the real name field which holds around 30 characters.

You need to increase the field sizes in tblAuther for Username and User_code.
Simply open the database in Access select to open the tblAuthor table in design view and in the properties box at the bottom increase the feild size for both the fields.
