Not me, well, maybe me!!!

Anyway.  Uploaded the WebWiz forum to a PAID Brinkster site (need the bandwidth!).  I have the .mdb in the Root Directory in the /database folder (both common.asp files have been modified to reflect this as /USERNAME/database/xxxxxxx.mdb).  In the Root Directory I also have the Forum dir.  In here I have all the folders and files as described in the included documentation.

Now, I'm stuck.  When I click on my 'Host URL', in this case it's USERNAME.brinkster.net, I get the 'Site Under Construction....' bs.  I've tried editing typing in the URL as USERNAME.brinkster.net/USERNAME/database/xxxxxxx.mdb (and a few other similar versions) but can't get the dang thing to load?!?!?!

ANY IDEAS????  This has stumped me now for about 3 or 4 days and I'm really just ready to throw in the towel.  Any help would be much appreciated!!!

Thanks!

tphalen.

To get to your forum you go all the way into your forum dir. For example type the url http://USERNAME.brinkster.net/forum/default.asp This is how you would access your forum. If you go to the url http://USERNAME.brinkster.net you get the under construction page that brinkster puts on every created account. Trying to access the database directly is the wrong way! The database is connected to the .asp pages that is how it works.

This way should work: http://USERNAME.brinkster.net/forum/default.asp

Hope this helps!

you need to delete the default page, probably something like index.html or default.html

Ok.  Checked it out...and heres the results.

HTTP 404 - File not found.

Let me ask you this.  Does the fact that the database folder is called DATABASE and not db????  I changed the two common.asp files to reflect this, but does the WebWiz forum access the /db directory anywhere else in the code (that you know of)????

From the feedback that I have got in the past it seems that the way Brinkster setup their sites on the paid accounts that Web Wiz Forums is not compatible.

I'm afraid to run the forum software you may need to change to another web host.
