Hi folks, its been a while, happy new year to all of you.

I'm looking for advice on a payment checkout website, I have just finished an online store (www.wingstiles.com) and created my own shopping cart and everything, however I need now to link it to a system like PayPal or WorldPay for checkout, however I have mailed them several times asking for details and no answer yet (since 20th December 2006), so I though about asking for an answer here with all your infinite know how.

Anyone has experience in this matters?

What is best in my case.

Client is quite egor to have it finished.

Thanks.

This site uses both WorldPay and PayPal

PayPal is good if you only expect US sales, outside the US allot of people can't use PayPal so I find that not many people use it.

WorldPay is much better for excepting payments but is not the cheapest option, you may find it cheaper to get a merchant account from someone like Streamlinea nd then use ProTX as your online payment processor. In the UK if you join the Federation of Small Buisnesses for £100 a year you can get a lower rate with Streamline of less than 2% per transaction!

Thanks boRg (resistance is futile) well thats another matter :) - how do you use exactly WorldPay and PayPal in this site?

In my particular case, products are listed, they are then added to the cart, and from there people go to an overview page which lists all products and prices inc taxs and shipping giving shoppers a grand total, the next step is the checkout, where I expect to sent all that info throught form POST or GET (not sure yet) my question is in which format is WorldPay (or any other one) expecting to receive this information.

I know they have APIs I can tap into, but I need more information on that, and their site is schectchy at most.

I also know I have to register the site with them, but they have different packages and its a bit confusing to know which one to go for, hence the emailing them part, of which no reply yet, are this people open for business at all? Why dont they reply?

Any help is appreciatted, I just want to know which method I should register in WorldPay and how to send my info from my cart to their processor.

Thanks.

The setup with most is quite simpley you send the required data in a form using post to them and get back a response ones it all goes through.

The best thing to do for a quick response is phone these people, the plans from them that this site uses are from over 5 years ago so I couldn'ty give you any info on the new plans they have.

The one I have been looking at which is the cheapest option which will be used on this site in the future is to join the FSB then use Streamline merchant account with the FSB discount, and use ProT as your gateway. If you are taking £1000 per month this option is around a £50 per month cheaper than all the other options.

The best thing to do is phone up the companies as FSB, streamline, etc. need to sendout a rep to interview you and get all the required information.

Before I forget if you email WorldPay I would check your spam filter as I emailed WorldPay twice Friday and both times had a reply within the hour.

However in your case I think you would be best off phoning and disccussing your options with a sales person.

Thx, will ask my client if he is interested in getting a Streamline merchant account, as for the WorldPay, I will phone them, just when you thought you could run a phone/paper free office.

My junk filter is set to send mail do the delete folder, which I check all mail without opening before I delete, none from WorldPay, anyway I will phone them.

Thanks for the advice.
