I'd like to remove the search roots (or guest accounts) from the active users list but I'm not seeing where I can slip a WHERE Group_ID <>4 expression.

i would add the start of the IF statement just before where it says:

    'Check the permissions to see if the user has permission to see the topic subject
    If intForumID > 0 Then

(roughly around line: 223)

and i would end if just before where it says

Next

(roughly around line: 277)


if you want to ONLY hide search engines however you only need to add:

If left(strOSbrowser,12) = "Search Robot" then
