Topic: Several questions/comments Posted: 01 August 2007 at 9:02pm |
First, thank you for v9.02!
Now, for my questions/comments/reports:
- Is there a link in the control panel to check the current version for updates as there was in v8?
- Clicking the link for "Change Admin Username and Password" sends me to the Control Panel menu. This happened with v9.0 also.
- In Membership admin, if I click the Administrator, I get a "Register New User" form. Where do I change the administrator email address? It is wrong in my member list.
- It seems that after a relatively short period of time, all "Active" topics are no-longer active. If I'm logged-in on the control panel, after a short period of time, I get a message that says I don't have enough permissions, but I'm still logged-in to the forum. I just need to log-in to the control panel again. Is this a server-side problem?
- I set the date format to mm/dd/yy in the control panel, but the Calendar event date format in new messages is still in the format of dd/mm/yy. Same with the member profile editor. This is nothing new, I just thought I'd throw it in here.
Thanks again!

Thanks for the reply.
3. I don't use the "administrator" profile as my own. Since I don't know the administrator password, and I cannot reach the profile through the control panel, how do I reset the password if the email address is wrong without editing the SQL table manually? Maybe it doesn't matter, since I don't use the account... I hate having loose-ends though.

have one question ? .
What about the Moderator rights , for example i dont want all moderators to Edit members profil but just some of them, all moderators rights seems to be just forums not for other things . .
I didnt see something like this in all 3 versions .
Borg are u planning such thing or waiting for mods about it .?
thanks

If you don't want moderators to be able to alter forum profiles edit the includes/setup_options_inc.asp file

boRg, Thanks for the link to the admin password reset instructions.
Would you mind addressing #1,2,4 and 5?
