    Posted: 25 August 2007 at 8:12pm
I set up WebWiz on my site, signed in, updated the admin account information and could sign in as needed.

I then moved the db to another folder, copying the same permissions, and updated the database_connection.asp as instructed. No errors. Now when I try to sign in it says my username and password are incorrect. I have tried from admin.asp and the other login locations.

I did also notice that when I logged in before the db move that my connection seemed to time out really quickly. Maybe this is a Vista/IE 6 problem?

During troubleshooting I reuploaded the orginal db and database_connection.asp to the orginal folder and am still unable to log in.

I have cleared cache, history, cookies, set the location as trusted, etc. Nothing is working. Is there a file that I am missing the update on?

If I try to register a new user I get this:

A security error has occurred with authentication.

Oh and my host is 1&1.

Any help, or confirmation that someone else is having the same issue with the same host would be appreciated.

have you tried re uploading the register.asp and login_user.asp?

also make sure that in the forum admin (sounds like using Access), you have enabled Registrations (not suspended) and that the forum is not closed. have you tried uploading another complete blank version of the database and whole forum and testing that?

the database doesn't look like to be the error else you would get a different error to that one.

also it may help if you let us know the link to the forum so we can take a look.

Web Wiz Forums will not work on 1&1 servers as there servers are poorly supported and do not meet a number of requirements.

You would need to look for an alternative web host if you want to use the software.
