Hey...been months since I had to create a new MOD, and I can't find out what the URL would be for them to login to the MOD admin screen...

can someone tell me?

oh, and the KB had no hits for MOD at all???

by "mod" do you mean moderator?

if so, you can upgrade someone to be a moderator by viewing their profile and clicking on the edit button

then when in the member CP go to admin settings, and then change the group to the designed one.

also moderators do not have a "mod admin screen", moderators can only edit, delete and move posts etc. which is done on the posts page it self.

yes, I mean a moderator. I've just changed the group perms, and then changed the new mods member perms too. that I do know how to do. but, as a MOD, can they also ban an IP and delete a member too? is this done via the IP which appears in each post -- at least it does for me the admin?

ie how can a MOD, once enabled, take "care" of the forum?

as i said before, a moderator doesnt have a "admin area" but they do have access to most of the features an admin has within the forum its self.

to ban an IP they would do the same as an admin and click on the IP Address as you said.

but a moderator would not have access to delete people, this is left to admins only.

Moderators by their nature are normally used only to maintain the forum and keep it running smoothly, by locking, editing or deleting posts.

More important control such as changing peoples group or deleting members, and creating forums etc is down to the admin.

*edit* i forgot to mention, moderators can also edit profiles, but you might be able to turn this off by looking at the "settings" file in the includes folder. though am not sure if this in V8 or just V9

Jvrudnick,  If you are using 9x ver then create a Mod & Admin Forum some where where both Mods and Admins can talk about what and who needs to be removed.

If you have 8x then just use the PM system.

Javi712,  Yes you can do that with 8x.  I just didn't seen any need to do it that way when you had the PM system.  I said to do that with ver 9x because program change in the pm and calendar systems.
