Here are some suggestions that I got from our active user base.

1) The ability to be able to choose either PM or Email for message replies.

2) A rating system for posts.  Users can rate posts (for instance, 1-5 stars).

3) Something to help keep too many reposts of the same or similar topics. i.e. When a user is making a post, if there were a check box for "Check for similar post".  On submit, the forum would display a list of posts that had a certain percentage match and the user could see if it was a repost.

1, Not sure if this would be worth it, as they would need to come to the forum to see PM's anyway so would see if there were new posts. However, if there is time a bookmark/favourites is planned so they could add posts to a list which would display if tere are any new posts.

2, Already added for next release, you can see it on this topic, near the top were it says 'Rate Topic'

3, Nice idea but would be very difficult to implement.

How about an RSS Feed for the member so they can view threads they're watching
(though security might be an issue for private forms)

Good idea would need some type of warning though that anyone can read their bookmarks via RSS and that the RSS feed can only contain public forums.

Although for Private Forums you could just display a message in the RSS Feed that a Topic in a Private Forum they are watching has had a new reply. At least then they would know that there is a new post to look at.
