Copying users and posts between Databases

I have a problem which I'm pretty sure is due to a problem with my database. Is it possible to copy tables between databases so I can copy posts and users detials from one database to a new fresh one?

The database is a relational database so it would not be possible to copy data from one database to another.

Thanks Bruce, I'll divert my efforts into trying to recover my origonal database. Have you got any ideas on this:
