I'm looking for a good asp.net link directory script. It needs to be in 2.0, free and open source. Does anyone know if such a script exists? I previously used FullRevolution's aspWebLinks, but it is written in ASP, and I don't want to continue to matain a legacy application. Before I go off and write my own (which I am heavily considering) I wanted to make sure there wasn't anything out on the market. You can see the aspWebLinks implementation I want to replace at http://www.civilwarsearch.com/search/
    Thanks.
David.

Sujo,
Thanks for the suggestion. I actually checked out this script however I believe there was a fundamental mistake in designing the script - the decision to not allow infinite nesting. For example, one can create categories, but one cannot create sub-categories. For example, if I put something in a category called "Computers" I cannot then create a directory under that called "Hardware" and a category under that called "Network Cards" and a category under that...and so on.
Are you the author of the script? If so, I'd be interested in working on it with you if there was a way for collaboration. I'd be willing to work on modifying the code to enable infinite categories, but what license is it under and is there any sort of source control?

Hi David,

Did you find any asp.net directory?

I am looking for a piece of directory/link manager asp.net 1.1 or 2.0 code that can be used to handle web links and directory's. Would be a bonus if it included AJAX.

Any ideas?

The best I found was myasp-net.com's. But it doesn't upgrade from 2003 to 2005 well, and I ended up giving up on it. There is also the Repository Module for DotNetNuke. In the end, for the time being I am going to try using Google Coop - which is a search engine, not a directory, and am going to request that they add the ability to create a directory from the links. :-/
