Topic: newly installed forum problems Posted: 27 August 2008 at 5:51pm |

Being new to this i did a lot of reading but i'm obviously still green so please bear with me. I've just installed web wiz forum on my site, while the rest of the site is under construction i wanted to at least get the forum running to keep members happy. The website is www.misbehavin.info but to get to the forum ya need to enter www.misbehavin.info/forum. I am having lots of problems and cant figure out which thing is responsible for what. New users cant register, it says that registration is blocked, its not blocked in admin. Forum categorys and sub forums are not showing up in the forum onlly in admin. Now i currently cant get in to admin or even get the forum to show up, wont load. This didnt happen until after i logged out, i havent changed anything at all before or after logging out to the server, database or any of my hosted files. Anyone have any idea on where i can start to resolve this big pain in my butt?

Seems to be working just fine the way I looked at it.. don't forget when you are in the Admin section you have to update when you create a Category.. also if you can not get back into the Admin section that is because you changed the password on there and if you can not remember the password I would suggest deleting the forums and starting over from scratch as you may have messed with the Admin Password and section that does not allow you to login in as Admin

ok everything all uploaded again, now it just hangs loading the page while i'm in admin. Cant change anything. Logging out, closing down my browser and reopening doesnt help.

I hope that you either override or deleted the first forums that you put on your server.. Make sure that your Server does support ASP.. I tried to register an Account with your forums and it seem you have registration closed.. if you open up your registration people would be able to assist you alittle better.. but from what I can see I notice there is nothing wrong with it as of right now

i deleted the first forum on the server, removed them from my host then reuploaded everything from scratch. I checked the server and it supports ASP. I've been trying all day to open registration but no matter what i did it wouldnt change. Since i've reuploaded i cant do anything in admin except log in, it just continually hangs while loading the page, i didnt have this problem the first time round. I'm beginining to wonder if this is really worth the hassle as i have more problems now than when i first started.....grrrr
