Problem with ver 9.51

Hello!

I am using webwiz 9.51. While I or any of my user creating a new topic an error occurs.

Server Error in Forum Application An error has occurred while writing to the database. Please contact the forum administrator. Support Error Code:- err_Access_save_new_topic_data File Name:- new_post.asp Error details:- Microsoft JET Database Engine The changes you requested to the table were not successful because they would create duplicate values in the index, primary key, or relationship. Change the data in the field or fields that contain duplicate data, remove the index, or redefine the index to permit duplicate entries and try again.

Now what do I have to do to resolve this problem.

I have done it. But still the same error occurs.

This is the problem with using an Access database which is why we only make it available for testing purposes only and not for production forums as Access databases often become corrupted.

It may mean you will need to start again, however to prevent these types of errors from occurring you should use the mySQL or SQL Server versions.

Common database errors are discussed here - having looked around I would suggest that if people are expecting to have busy forums, that they use SQL or MySQL as their database backend, otherwise they may find that if their forum becomes very busy, they may suffer from different issues, none of which will be related to the software, but more because as Bruce says Access is used for more testing environments
