Hi!

Searching for content, using the keywords "version 7", "version 8" and "version 9", returns nothing found, and the message appears:

"One or more of the words used in your search criteria is below 3 characters"

Is it a bug, or related to a securityfeature where unwanted characters/words are stripped?

Kind Regards,
K.

As the error says, one of your keywords (in this cased the number), is below the 3 character limit set.

This is not a bug but to prevent the search from overloading the server by returning to many results by searching for a keyword that is to short.

If you want to search for 'version 9' then you would need to do a 'phrase' search instead by selecting 'Match Phrase' from the drop down next to your keyword on the advanced search page.

I understand this - (found this thread while searching for the cause of some complaints on our forum) but why can I do a search - I use advanced, put in the words
group 19
and do a "find all words"  - not a phrase search, and I DO find all posts with group 19 or even just group or 19.
Others do a similar search and get the error.
I'm a moderator - but should that matter in a search?
Group 19 parts are a common topic on our forum - and so a lot of folks want to search on this or other group numbers.
At first I thought they were only searching for 19, but found they were searching group 19, all words, and got the error. But I can do a search on our forum any time for said words, no error.
If I do a search for group 19 here I get the error.
Thoughts?
