Bruce:
Any indication on when Version 10.0 is coming out? I just saw the beta release vBB and it has tons of new features which are definitely appealing. Some of these features (such as blogging) you've talked about adding to V10.0.
I understand that hosting is probably helping to pay the bills...but I definitely think WWF needs to be updated in a big way. We've been on V9 quite a while and it'd be great to see some movement on development for WWF instead of your hosting product.
BTW, the WW website is looking great these days. The landing/selling pages.
Cheers!

The new blogging part of version 10 is almost complete, just the archive linking system to complete, some admin options, and a wy for members to implement new blogs.
Once this is done looking at adding some other features such as new spam filtering system where you can add keywords with a score, if a post comes above the spam score then depending on the admin settings the post will either need to be approved or it would be rejected.
A ton of other extra features has already been added, due to a change in the way admin options are saved to the database there is already around 100 new admin options for modifying the forum.
Support tends to go much more quite over the Christmas period so hoping to be able to devote more resources to the development of version 10 during this period. Although as you can imagine some time off with family over Christmas would also be nice.

By the way we have not been sitting on our bums not doing anything for the late 2 years since version 9 was released allot of new features that you would have seen from a major release have been added to version 9.x including:- - Read/Unread Post Notification
- Improved Search Engine Optimization
- Dynamically created SEO friendly Meta Tags for Title, Description, and Keywords
- SEO URL Rewriting
- New Install/Upgrade Wizard
- New Avatar Upload Tool
- Live 'Check for Updates' Tool
- HTTP XML API - Allows you to ineract with Web Wiz Forums from ASP.NET, PHP, Desktop Apps, etc.
- Improved Windows Authentication/Active Directory API
- New Editor Tool for Inserting YouTube and Adobe Flash Movies with Preview Window

- Improved Error Handling, no-longer will your members see
a white error screen if email notifications fail to be sent when they
make a post.
- Animated Progress Bar for File and Image Uploads
- Added Social Bookmarking - Google, Digg, StubleUpon, Facebook, MySpace, etc.
- New 'Go To First Unread Post' link at the top of Topics that contain new unread Posts
- Added
more visible links to show you how many new unread Posts there are
within a Topic, clicking the link will take you to the first unread post
- 'Today' date shown in bold
- YouTube widescreen format now supported
- Bad Word Filter now supports Regular Expressions for more accurate detection of Obscene Words or unwanted content
- Improvements to security including improvements XCSRF and XSS protection
- New Web Wiz CAPTCHA version 4 that now creates CAPTCHA images on the fly

- Plus loads more minor bug fixes and improvements
I'm sure I have missed quite a few other updates and changes, but at least you get an idea of how many new features have been added to version 9 that would have normally been added to a major new release, but rather than keeping these new features back and been adding them to version 9 in minor updates over the late 2 years.

Wow, IMO even version 9 hasn't been standing still! A lot of features and changes have been added to the 9 series. That takes time, too - as well as the security additions and enhancements. Microsoft doesn't update operating systems as fast as Bruce does WWF, so I'm going to be VERY patient, esp since the changes in 9 seem to keep taking us forward anyway...... (and each time he answers this question, which has been asked about 6 times in the last few months, it takes away from support and coding.... (I'm glad he updates the hosting side too since they hose our forums and each hosting-side upgrade just makes the forums that much better)

Its nice to see that v10 is coming up. Its been a while for this wwf. But it has improved a lot, and i mean a LOT. Thanks bruce for all his efforts behind all this. And I just don't mean all this, i meant ALL THIS.
Well, I must say, wwf isnt just a forum for some people. Its the idol.
I remember, back then, there was a borg who inspired hundreds of people like me to code and not only to code but to follow a standard of organizing it. Bruce, these people are grateful and love wwf from the deepest of their heart. good luck
