It seems that anyone logged into the forum can access the password protected forums.  It doesn't ask them to enter a password.  I verified that there is still a password assigned to it.  Any ideas?

If you have choosen to automactiaclly be logged into that forum when entering the password then it won't ask for your password gain, try deleting your cookies.

That's not quite what I'm going for.  We have a staff section of the forums.  I don't want other people (other than staff) to be able to get into it.  So I password protected it.  Yet - when anyone logs in, they are able to access it.

And when enetering apassword protected forum don't select to be automactically logged into that forum, therefore by passing the password when returning to the forum.

Ok - but how does that stop everyone else from getting access to it.  ANYONE is able to access the password protected areas.  I could care less if I access them or not. ANYONE IS ABLE TO ACCESS THE PASSWORD PROTECTED AREAS WITHOUT ENTERING A PASSWORD. Deleting my cookies makes won't keep jimmy from argentina from getting into the staff section or susie from china.  Those are the people I don't want in - not me.

Create a group with the Staff Members in it and change the password protected forum to only allow those that are members of the group to see and read and post to the forum.

The password thing does work correctly, many people use it, the problem is that you aren't following what I am saying.

If I go to your password protected for enter the correct password and choose not to have to enter it again, ayone using my computer will not be asked for the password again when enetring that forum as a cookie will be stored on my computer.

However, if someone using another computer tries to eneter the password protected forum they will be propted for the password.

If multiple people use your computer then when logging into the forum choose not to automactiaccly be mogged into that forum next time, you will then be asked for the password when returning to that forum.

As you have already selected the auto method you now need to clean out your cookies so you will be asked for the password again. If this doesn't happen you have setup the forum wrong.
