Topic: Active Directory module - administrator cannot log Posted: 14 January 2011 at 3:25pm |
I just download and installed WWF 9.69. I am using active directory for authentication. Being both a forum user and administrator, once I logged in as administrator, I cannot logout as administrator. When I start up my browser (IE) and login as myself (a forum user), I become logged on as administrator, not myself. The only work around I found so far is to use Firefox, and I can login as myself.
Any ideas?
I was able to turn off active directory authentication in the web.config and logout as administrator. Once active directory authentication was re-enabled, I could login as myself, but the next time I had to go in as administrator, I can no longer login as myself.
I apologize if this topic has been discussed before and/or if I'm posting in the wrong forum. I'm new here, and I searched for active directory and couldn't find any relevant topics.
Thanks!
Tom

Please read the notes in the top of the file where you enable active directory integration.
It has a part of the Admin Control Panel and how to access it.

I'm not having a problem accessing the control panel. But, once I access it as administrator, I can no longer access the forum as a user. I log in as myself, not administrator, and no matter what it says I'm the administrator, not a normal user.

Make sure you logout the admin control panel before you go back to the main forum, using the logout link in the admin control panel.

OK, I logged out of admin control panel, and it states zero users online.
The forum is in test mode, there are 4 users total: administrator, guest, me, and my boss.
I shutdown my browser, re-open the browser, access the forum, login as me (not administrator), and when the forum appears, it says 1 online user: administrator

By test mode, I mean no one is using it beside me and my boss. We have not announced its presence.

HTTP is a stateless protocol which means that Active User is not accurate and is just a best as measure to gain some idea of active users on the forum.
