Trouble updating to 9.73

I'm trying to update from 9.69 to 9.73 and keep banging my head on the same problem.  I keep on getting the error message "

With Windows 2008 R2 there are a couple of things that could cause this.

1. Permissions issue. Have a look at the application pool for the website that you are installing the forum on and set read,write, and modify permissions on the forums 'database' folder for the user or user group that the app pool is running under.

2. Edit using the Advanced Setting option the settings of the app pool that the forums website is running under and set the following:-

General -> Enable 32-Bit Applications - True
Process Model -> Maximum Worker Process - 1
Rapid Fail Protection -> Enabled - False

Thanks Bruce, it looks like changing these two settings in the application pool resolved the issue:

     General -> Enable 32-Bit Applications - True
     Rapid Fail Protection -> Enabled - False

So now that I've successfully updated, is it safe to leave these settings or should I change them back?

It's best to leave them as they now are.
