Users cannot login

Hi,

I am the admin for a forum (version 10, mySQL) and there have been a couple of time where a valid user could not login after successfully registering and logging in a few times.

The first time it happened, I changed the user's password but the user was still locked out, so I ended up deleting the user and then recreating it.

The second time, I looked at the mySQL database tables and saw that the user's tblAuthor record had a Login_attempt value of 9 (all the other users were 0).  So, I edited the record and changed it to 0 and voila!, the user was able to login.  Do you know why the user was locked out and if there's a way to prevent this from happening in the future?

I am running 10.01 and need to upgrade to 10.02.  Do I have to run through the entire upgrade process as detailed in your Upgrade Documentation or can I just replace the ASP files?
