Hi,
 
Can I manually update RTE in Newspad 1.3? I see that for RTE there is a new 1.8 version available, which probably fixes alot of browser issues I have with the Newspad RTE?

It would be difficult integrating the RTE yourself as it is heavily customised for things like checking the user is logged in to NewsPad.

The latest version 2.0 includes the latest Web Wiz Rich Text Editor 4.08, and you would better of upgrading NewsPad to this latest release.

The problem is that I heavily customised NewsPad 1.3 to fit into my website. So upgrading will not be an easy task.
 
Are there any general files which I could update? Like RTE_javascript_gecko.asp, RTE_javascript_common.asp, etc?

It would be harder to update the RTE as it has changed allot since NewsPad 1.x which is around 4 years old.

The whole RTE would need to be updated and then to prevent your website being hacked it needs to be modified to add in security checks from NewsPad so that a hacker can not use the RTE to upload files to hack your website.

Version 2 of NewsPad does allow modification of the header and footer from the admin area fofr website integration.
