We're still at 9.xxx, gathering info on 10.xxx for an upgrade (soon I hope)
I need to be able to list for the other mods, features and behaviors that will be different, features added, changed, improved, etc.
One of the biggest "complaints" we get from users - very vocal, and quite a few, is when they spend several minutes on a long PM to someone, that when they click send, if the recipient's PM inbox is full, their messages is totally lost. It just disappears, gone, they have to start over, etc.
It's going to happen, and there are good logical reasons a PM box might fill through no fault of the member. Say in my case, we have to do something like suspend a member, I log out, don't come back for a day and my PM box is filled, and others are still trying to message me.
OR, if a member posts needing some help or has something for sale - and they log out, say they have 10 spots left in their PM box, but 15 people try to message them, only the first 10 get through, the other 5 who have spent time and energy trying to contact that member LOSE their message they have written as quick as they hit send. The recipient isn't logged in so the warning that their box is full does no good.

So, I'm asking - if I try to send a PM to someone in v10.x and their PM inbox is full, do I still lose that message I worked really hard on creating? OR, do I get it back and just a warning that the recipients box is full, and give me a chance to save as a DRAFT for example???
I'd love to see the "recipient's inbox is full, do you wish to save message as a draft to send later"?
Instead of losing the message completely and having to start all over again...........

Short question - how does 10 work in the PM area?
I see the feature list, but it really doesn't say more than "warning if your inbox is full", and I did a search here for "message" and "PM" and didn't find the details or full features.

In version 10 the forum admin can configure the forum to have the PM rejected if the recipient inbox is full (like in version 9) or they can can configure the forum that the oldest PM is deleted to make room for the new PM.

Version 10 also allows the admin to set different limits on inbox and outbox, as well as a warning message when you visit the forum if you have a full inbox.

So in short I need to explain, yes, the message they typed would still be lost if the recipients inbox was full.....
That's what they'll need to be warned about.
They'll scream if we enable the FIFO method, and lose messages they'd planned on keeping for a while. Yeah, I've explained the "email a copy of..." link to them, but "do it for me" mentality prevails, I'm afraid. It's the states, ya know  Wink

Anyway, not really complaining, just wanting to know the facts to give. They want to know.
(although it would be nice if instead of losing all that typing, it could be saved or left in the text box instead of vanishing, or maybe a drafts option? Just ideas.....)
